Since I didn’t get into the vendor at Trotcon where I originally planned to sell my custom ponies, that means I can sell them to you guys right now!  I’ve just updated with Big Mac, Derpy, the CMC, Pinkie, and Rarity available!  I also have a third Rainbow Dash, Luna, and Cheese Sandwich in the works right now and those will probably be sold to so keep an eye out.
And remember, I CAN ship internationally but the buyer must be willing to pay for the shipping.  So if you are interested, send me a note on Deviant Art and we’ll work something out.  :)

Dear Corporate Entities & Product Developers:

Please take note of the following from a previously loyal consumer:

I do NOT want my car to do the driving or parking for me. I regret even having an automatic transmission!

I do NOT want computer devices that do everything “automatically” for me….

YEEEEES, THIS, JUST THIS!!!

Honestly I think a lot of our product engineers, politicians, and the man in general are just trying to make everything too convenient for us and in the end are only making it harder for us to enjoy these things.  We aren’t stupid, we can still do things the old fashioned way for crying out loud!!

That post about bronies being creepy is probably not fake, but even if it is, there is some truth to the story. I have been to four anime conventions since that Friendship is Magic thing started airing, and at every convention there was a My Little Pony booth with a bunch of middle aged men discussing various sexual topics regarding the characters in the series, like "which pony do you think would be the best in bed?" Bronies are extremely creepy, and if you disagree, then you are also creepy.

judacris:

Well, I haven’t been to any MLP-related conventions. I know there are a bunch of people who use the identity and do all sorts of nasty things with the show, wilfully or not. This happens to all fandoms, except this one gets shone under the spotlight a whole lot more because the idea of grown adult men who like a kids show for girls is very curious.

I don’t care for these people, but the majority of bronies I know aren’t creeps. There is still plenty of good in the brony name despite all the controversy and the butthurt within the fandom. But labelling all bronies as sexual deviants is a poor generalisation, and if that is indeed true, would there’ve been a whole slew of MLP-related conventions for fans of all types, with the representatives of the show dropping by to welcome us all with open arms? Why are there nods to fans in the show?

There are those of us who band together to make the lives of people through charity and brotherhood. And not all who associate with the brony name are men. I can’t say for certain about others, but I use the term brony to represent myself as a male adult fan who loves the show for what it is, its messages and its characters, cherishing it as an adult like all the other shows I enjoy without resorting to sexual fantasies and erotic art.

Again, I’m not defending the actions of the creeps and I’m not speaking for everyone. I’ve always believed a childrens’ program must be kept clean. Unfortunately, it’s the way the internet is and frankly, without the internet, I think the attention this show has gotten to people of all ages would not have been as strong in the first place. Creeps are creeps, and I hope these people know their boundaries. Keep it age-appropriate, where age-appropriateness in required.

A word about bronies.

saintcheshire:

So I just got back last night from a brony convention in San Francisco. I was working a booth for a vendor friend, and let me tell you what happened:

We met a little girl who was there with her family. She got a button drawn at our booth, told us all about her favorite ponies, and was overall just too damn cute. She had an MLP lanyard filled with pins she’d gotten in the vendor’s room, and gave me a Fluttershy pin because she liked my cosplay. She ended up just hanging out with us for a while and bein’ super cute. We call her Babby because she’s 11 and precious.

The next day, she runs up to the booth, terrified, and asks if she can please hide under our table for a few minutes. Turns out a dude had been following her around the con all day, and tried to get her to come up to his hotel room. Alone. She tells us she thought he was okay at first because he was wearing an MLP shirt, but she didn’t want to go anywhere with him, and he made her uneasy. At one point, after she’d refused, he grabbed her arm in the elevators and tried to get her to follow him. She ran, and now she wants somewhere to hide.

We tell her of course, hurry her behind our booth and fucking station ourselves around her because she’s eleven years old and all of us are prepared to physically attack the human trashheap who tries to fuck with her. We’re all dressed up in wings and ears and we’re 100000% prepared to rip them off and launch across that table to defend this kid. Eventually this very large dude strolls by, very obviously looking around, and she quietly points him out to us. At this point I’m ready to set him on fire, but when I ask if she needs me to go report him, she shakes her head. She doesn’t want to get in trouble, or make anyone mad.

We see him a few more times over the course of the day, because he keeps meandering over to our booth and just casually looking around. Eventually he actually stops to take a flier from our table and asks us a question, and we coldly send him on his way. We start sending a coworker with Babby whenever her parents aren’t around and she wants to go check out artist’s alley or the vendor’s hall. Because otherwise she’s not safe. She can’t run around and freely enjoy a convention about a show aimed at her, because instead of being surrounded by peers she’s somehow surrounded by men who pose a threat to her.

My point here: this is why I fucking hate “bronies.” Because grown-ass men are flooding into a space carved out for children—often little girls—and are making it unsafe for them.

I met a lot of non-awful people there, of course. I met a lot of parents and older siblings. A lot of adorable little boys who were happy to empathize with female characters, and a lot of little kids who wanted a picture with cosplays of their favorite pony. I met a lot of people who were cool and nice and just liked cartoons. I met a male Pinkie Pie cosplayer with a Fluttershy lady-friend who juggled and spun plates and was happy to entertain kids, and were generally just really cool people.

But I also met a lot of skeevy dudebros. A lot of guys in fedoras loudly discussing sexual shit in a room with children. Guys who drew/sold/displayed really fucking inappropriate “fanart,” including gross bodypillows that had no purpose in a little kids’ toy convention. I met a guy who gushed with absolute glee about the pleasure he derives from “corrupting innocence.” I met a lot of people who wanted to take something sweet and nice for children and make it about THEM. A lot of guys who wanted to make it about their dicks. People who made it UNSAFE for the intended audience to even be in attendance.

So yeah. If you call yourself a brony, I’m prolly not gonna trust you. Because I’ve seen y’all in action, and I am not impressed. Frankly I’m infuriated. This is like a bunch of gross neckbeards swarming Disneyland and shoving kids out of the way so they can grope Cinderella, and finding nothing wrong with it because they think they’re entitled to it.

My Little Pony is a really cute show with a lot of nice messages for kids, and gross brony shitweasels are trying to fucking take it from them by force. And I will fight them.

I’m gonna tell you guys a story, ‘kay?

DON’T SCROLL AWAY, THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE EXPECTING.

About 13 years ago, I went to a public summer arts-and-crafts event that was held weekly for two months. My parents, both having jobs, had to drop me off early and could not pick me up afterwards, so we got help from a friend of ours who we had known for a while - he was married with three daughters my age, and attended service regularly. Each week after arts-and-crafts sessions, we would visit his house for a while, as my parents would still be at work, and he had plenty of ways to keep me from getting bored - board games, video games, TV.

You know, I see a lot of things like this spread like wildfire on Tumblr and I have got to say this needs to stop.

Now I will say first and foremost, if a little girl is being stalked by a man like that at a brony convention, yes I believe with all my heart it is a major concern to me and I hope that that man is arrested and punished if he gets caught one day.  I hear stories about these kinds of people on the news all the time and just the thought of young children being harassed/molested/raped by disgusting individuals like that makes my skin crawl.

However, using stories like this as an excuse to hate on ALL bronies is completely wrong.  I agree with what its-just-a-mod says above me.  I just wold like to ask a question to those of you brony haters out there who think that you are doing the world a favor by saying that we are ALL evil child-molesters and perverts:

  • Would you hate on all black people just because there are many black gangsters and drug dealers in major cities?
  • Would you hate on all Muslims or people of middle-eastern decent just because of what happened on 9-11?
  • Would you hate on all Christians just because of what goes on at the Westboro Baptist Church?

If you consider yourself a sane and intelligent individual, you had better say no to all of these and tons more examples I don’t have the time or patience to list.

Now think to yourself:  does one or several individuals like that from a fandom like the brony fandom really have that big of an influence on the rest of us, especially when the majority of bronies are against that kind of behavior?  Would you hate on all bronies just because of one story of a creepy guy chasing a little girl around in a convention? (a story which still has yet to be proven and there are rumors it is actually fake)  If you judge this entire fanbase by just this one individual yet you said no to those other examples I gave, you are the complete definition of a hypocrite.

For one thing, I’ve been in the brony fandom for over 3 years now and have witnessed a lot of decent and professional behavior and can say with confidence that we are a good fandom and we spread a lot of positivity.  Now, of course I have experienced rude and vile behavior from some members of this fandom but you know what guys?  If I went into another fandom or community, I would probably see it just as much as I do in the brony fandom.  It all boils down to who you expose yourself too.  If you hang out with the members of the negative side of the fandom, you are more likely to take that in more than the positive side and vice versa.  And if you see too much of the bad stuff, you shy away from the group because you let yourself get exposed to the bad.  This might sound rude but I personally consider such people to be weak-minded cowards.  I am sorry, I know that might hurt some people’s feelings, but really, if you can’t learn to not judge others so harshly, how do you expect yourself to get in a good marriage relationship, find a good job, raise good kids and basically be prepared for the world around you?

A lot of these stories are actually fake and made up by haters just to get other people to believe that we are a horrible fanbase full of pedophiles and other avoidable people.  I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if this story was debunked.  Not that I’m not concerned, I am.  Like I said, child molesters and rapists make my skin crawl, but making up stories about it just so you can get other people to hate on others is completely wrong and is going to backfire on you one day.  If any of you see a story like that, I would suggest that you not take it to heart until you know for certain that it is true.

So I guess I’ve said enough, but I will end on this note:  the next time you find a good opportunity to hate on bronies using one example of a bad person, just consider the fact that the same kind of person is in the communities YOU are part of.  They are in your fandoms, your religion, your political party, your race, your gender, your sexuality, they are EVERYWHERE.  That still doesn’t mean those groups you are part of are all bad and if you still think that all bronies are evil just because there are some creepers in this group, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

The third custom Rarity I’ve done and I must admit these pictures do not do it any justice.  The paint on her mane and tail looks much better in person.

So yeah, like always, Sculpey III clay for mane and tail, used acrylics for painting them, super glued them on, voila.  This time I went a different route though and painted her hair two-toned.  It didn’t really turn out the way I wanted it to though and like I said, it looks better in person.  I have also thought of painting another cutie mark on her left flank as well as correcting the shines in her eyes.  The latter is more likely to happen.

And don’t forget that this custom is for sale to buy but if I repaint her eyes and give her a cutie mark it will bring the price up so just be prepared for that.

Today marks the twenty-fifth birthdayfor the original Nintendo Game Boy. The innovative console was launched 25 years ago today in Japan on April 21st, 1989.
